Concrete comes early!

We were prepared to run with a reduced crew this week to finish forming the upper 1BR cistern when we got a call from US Concrete on Monday.  If we could be ready, they could deliver us 58 yards on Thursday.  The crew responded and we got the plumber, electrician and HVAC guy on site on Tuesday to complete their tasks in the slab preparation.  The permits were filed and approved on Wednesday and we were ready to pour the tower villa slab and the first 2BR poolside villa footings on Thursday. [caption id="attachment_1933" align="alignnone" width="4032"]img_0566 Drip line - An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure[/caption] We got the permits on Wednesday and the pour began Thursday morning.  We had enough concrete to pour the top slab and columns of the tower villa. [caption id="attachment_1983" align="aligncenter" width="2448"]img_0589 The pour begins[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1916" align="aligncenter" width="640"]img_0639 My friend Jeff on the newly poured Tower villa slab[/caption] The tower villa forms will remain in place for three weeks to maximize curing time for the concrete.  This structure is one unified piece of concrete tied into the footings and stem walls.  We were also able to complete the forming for the upper 1BR villa. [caption id="attachment_1912" align="alignnone" width="640"]img_0634 The upper 1BR cistern is almost ready for concrete[/caption] We also poured the footings for the first of the 2BR poolside villas.  Now that the footings are in place for the 2BR poolside villa, the next step is the stem walls which are being formed here. Have a great Sunday!
